Privacy Policy

UniversalClip ("we", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. What we collect

• Account: your email address and, for OAuth sign-in, your name and avatar from Google.
• Devices: a device name and operating system you provide when pairing.
• Clipboard data: the content you choose to sync. When end-to-end encryption is enabled, this is encrypted on your device with a passphrase only you know — we store only ciphertext and cannot read it.
• AI requests: when you trigger an AI action, the selected text is sent to our AI provider (DeepSeek) to produce a result. This is an explicit action you initiate, not passive collection.
• Usage logs: AI action type, model used, and token counts, for quota and billing.

2. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not read end-to-end encrypted clipboard content.
• We do not use your clipboard content to train models.

3. Data retention

Clipboard items expire automatically — 3 hours on Free, 30 days on Pro — and are then permanently deleted, including any synced files. You can delete any item manually at any time. Deleting your account removes all associated data.

4. Third-party processors

• DeepSeek — AI processing of text you submit.
• Cloudflare R2 — encrypted storage of synced files/images.
• LemonSqueezy — payment processing (we never see your card details).

5. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Device tokens are stored in your operating system's secure keychain. Optional end-to-end encryption uses AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your passphrase, which never leaves your device.

6. Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Email us to make a request.
